Know thy tools
thy.tools is a small workshop of 84 utilities. Image compressors, PDF organizers, color converters, password generators, and more of that kind. The name is a bit of a joke. The work is not: pick a tool, do the job, leave.
We got tired of “free tools” that want an account, a newsletter, and a peek at the file you just dropped. No account, and no one watching thee. Favorites and recently used tools stay on this device. We don’t run analytics products, and we don’t sell anyone a picture of thy habits.
How the tools work
Most of them never leave the tab. Compress a PNG, stamp a PDF, mix a color, write a passphrase. That all happens in thy browser, on the page in front of you. Close the tab and it’s gone, which is the point.
A handful have to hit the wire: DNS, WHOIS, IP lookup, and Open Graph previews. Those send the host or URL you asked about to our Worker, and sometimes an upstream (Cloudflare DNS, ipinfo, a public RDAP registry). We say so on the tool. We don’t keep that traffic as a profile of you.
Background Remover is the odd one out. The first run downloads an AI model and caches it; after that, the cutout stays local. Thy photo never goes to us. The privacy page has the longer version.
Choose thy tool
The right tool for the task. If something is broken, missing, or just irritating, send word. We’ll read it. This is made by Gray Interactive.
